Your First Paid Offer: A Free Worksheet

A one-page working exercise for choosing a customer, defining a useful result, and planning a small test. Print it or copy it into your notes.

Write short answers. You can revise them after a real conversation. Print this page (it prints cleanly) or copy the questions into your own notes.

  1. A skill I can use and evaluate

What can I already do well enough to recognize a good result?

  2. A specific potential customer

Who has this problem, and where can I reach a few of them?

  3. The job they need finished

What are they trying to do? How do they handle it today? What evidence do I have that it matters?

  4. My first offer

    I help ______ produce/complete ______. The package includes ______ and excludes ______.

  5. What I need from the customer

Source material, approved facts, access, feedback, or other inputs:

  6. The sample I will make

Use original, approved, or synthetic material. Label a demonstration clearly.

  7. My quality check

How will I verify accuracy, usefulness, and whether the agreed deliverable is complete?

  8. The cost of delivering it

    Price: ____ · Direct costs: ____ · Delivery hours: ____ · Sales/admin hours: ____

Planning rate = (price − direct costs) ÷ total hours. Include revisions; account separately for taxes and other overhead.

  9. Three conversations to arrange

Ask how each person handles the task today, what goes wrong, and how they decide whether outside help is worth paying for.

  10. My test and review date

By ______ I will create ______ and speak with ______. I will continue, adjust, or stop based on ______.

Worked example

Skill: Editing educational content.

Buyer: Independent instructors with recorded workshops.

Offer: One approved recording into three scripts, two posts, and one email, with one revision round.

Sample: My own five-minute explanation.
